A Concise Summary Juz 1 Part 1 Hizb 4

  • And when your Master said to the angels I am placing on the earth a successive authority
  • The one who will have generation after generation
  • The one who is left behind
  • The story of Adam begins
  • Allah talks about believers, disbelievers, and hypocrites
  • All these three groups are from the children of Adam
  • We are taken to the beginning of human history
  • The angels said Will you create someone who will cause corruption on the earth
  • And one who will spread bloodshed
  • While we declare your perfection and declare your sanctity and purity
  • Tasbeeh of Allah is the opposite of corruption
  • The perfection of Allah is your perfect character and how you carry yourself on the earth
  • Real Tasbeeh of Allah brings goodness on the earth
  • Allah says I know that which you do not know
  • Allah knows the potential of the human beings
  • Allah is saying to the angels there is one among you not so pure

  • He taught Adam the names all of them and nouns
  • The origin of linguistics
  • All the names there could be
  • Then He brought them before the angels
  • Allah taught Adam all things living and nonliving things
  • Allah asks the angels give me the names of these if you are truthful
  • If you claim this creature sheds blood then tell me the names of these things
  • It is being displayed that this creature has knowledge which leads to wonderful advances
  • All sciences boils down to names and terminology
  • This is referring to acquired knowledge and secular knowledge
  • All knowledge is taught by Allah religious and secular
  • Humans have revealed knowledge and acquired knowledge
  • University and madrassa should be one and studied together hand in hand
  • Allah tells us to go out and see the world and reflect over it
  • Learn knowledge with guidance of Quran and Sunnah to solve societies problems
  • Science is blind and it has no guidance
  • What will give it guidance is revelation and it gives it a direction

  • They said How perfect are You O Allah we have no knowledge
  • Except for that which You have taught
  • Indeed You are the Wise and most Knowing

  • He said O Adam tell them their names so He told them their names
  • He said Did I not tell you that I know what is in the unseen in the heavens and the earth
  • And I know what you reveal and what you have been concealing
  • They do not even know what is hidden amongst them

  • And when we said to the angels prostrate before Adam
  • This is the prostration of respect
  • It is now totally forbidden to prostrate to anyone other than Allah
  • They all prostrated except for Iblis
  • He refused and sought his own greatness and become of the disbelievers
  • He become of those that are ungrateful
  • He wanted to be big
  • Iblis wanted to be recognized as the greatest worshipper ever
  • Religious recognition
  • The more we learn the more humble we must get
  • The more fruits a tree bears the lower its branches get
  • Iblis refused one prostration and how many do we refuse by not praying

  • And we said to Adam settle down with your wife in Jannah
  • The instruction of Allah is passed to the man of the house for the rest of the family
  • Allah gave both Men and women rights that are not equal
  • Some have more advantages than the other
  • Everyone Allah has promised the best thing
  • Both genders are different
  • The man has to answer to Allah and he is not the owner of the house
  • Allah is the owner of the house
  • Be in tranquility you and your wife in Jannah
  • And eat from it carefree from wherever you want
  • But do not approach or go near this tree lest you become from the wrongdoers
  • Duniya is same everything is halal except for a few ugly and harmful things

  • And Satan caused them both to slip from that commandment
  • And from remembering that they should have not gone close
  • Once you get sucked in you get sucked in entirely
  • Allah already said He created them for the earth
  • Allah said that to the angels but not Adam yet
  • Iblis was in charge of the angels
  • Allah puts Adam in Jannah first
  • Iblis comes and says to Adam that you were created for the earth
  • He said to Adam the only ones who stay here are angels or permanent residents
  • The draw to eat from the tree is that he does not want to go to the earth
  • The punishment from eating from the tree is being sent to the earth
  • And we said Descend from here all of you as enemies to one another
  • You will have on the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time
  • Adam could have said to Allah that You were going to send me to the earth anyway
  • We often say Allah knows I was going to sin how is it my fault
  • Instead Adam asks for forgiveness

  • Then Adam came into contact with some special words from His Master
  • Allah accepted his repentance
  • Indeed He is accepting of repentance the Merciful
  • Iblis refused and wanted to be great himself
  • Iblis became racist and said he was more superior
  • Logic when it comes to complaining to Allah is kufr
  • Adam and Iblis have a lot in common
  • Only one became arrogant and the other remained humble
  • One did not repent and the other repented
  • Both were honored by Allah
  • Both disobeyed Allah
  • Both were given the choice to repent or rationalize their wrongdoing
  • Iblis rationalized his mistake and did not repent
  • Adam said I made a mistake and was forgiven
  • Will you make the choice of Adam or Iblis?
  • Adam did not even know how to say sorry
  • Allah taught him what words to say
  • When it came to taubah both Adam and Hawa made taubah
  • But Allah mentions Adam
  • Because Adam took responsibility for the household
  • Adam was the one Allah had commanded
  • Men of the household must take care of their families
  • Men will be making taubah for their families if they fall short

  • He said to them descend from here all of you altogether
  • And when guidance comes to you from Me than follow that guidance
  • Whoever follows that guidance will have no fear or grief on them
  • Allah has already taught Adam acquired knowledge
  • Now Allah is teaching him revealed knowledge
  • Allah mentioned guidance before with 2 qualities Mutaqoon and Muflihoon
  • These people who protect themselves have no fear
  • These people who have succeeded have no grief
  • Success comes with happiness and failure comes with sadness

  • And those who disbelieve and deny our ayat will be the companions of the fire
  • And they will abide therein eternally
  • This is another way of saying the previous ayat about disbelievers
  • They violate the promise of Allah
