A Concise Summary Juz 1 Part 2 Hizb 1
- O children of Israel mention the favor I have bestowed upon you
- Fulfill my convent to you and your covenant will be fulfilled from Me
- And fear Me and only Me
- Now societies have formed
- And from those societies Allah honored and chose one among the rest
- Allah would give them guidance over and over again
- They received Prophet after Prophet
- They would give them chance after chance
- So they could be a role model for all of humanity
- First the legacy of Adam then the legacy of Bani Israel
- The hypocrites took the qualities of Bani Israel
- The prominent community in Madinah were the Jews
- They disbelieved and lied about our Ayat
- The previous ayat was a warning especially to Bani Israel
- In the history of the Israelites they were filled with fear and grief
- Because they did not follow the guidance of Allah
- Bani Israel should be shaking with fear for what they have done
- And believe in what I have sent down
- Confirming what you already had from before
- And do not be from the first to disbelieve
- And do not sell my ayat for a small price
- And fear Me and only Me
- Believe in what was sent means believing in the Quran and in the Prophet Muhammad
- The Quran and the Messenger were one and the same
- The Quran came out from the mouth of the Prophet
- Israelites became arrogant like Iblis for rejecting the message
- And do not mix or disguise the truth with falsehood
- As a result, hiding the truth altogether
- And you are the ones who truly know
- People who have knowledge have power
- Then they have the power to mix the truth with falsehood
- Like a car mechanic can take advantage of a customer
- They have knowledge the lay men do not have
- And establish the prayer and give the zakah
- And bow with those who bow in obedience and worship
- The Jews were not offering salah or giving zakah
- So they have to reestablish the salah
- Salah connects you to Allah and gives you taqwa
- Zakah purifies you
- Jews have their version of salah but now they have to pray like the Muslims
- Ruku means to be overwhelming humbled
- You recited the Quran and the words were so overwhelming you said Allah is Great
- Then you fell into Ruku and it humbled you
- When a person makes ruku he became bankrupt after he was rich
- He has nothing left
- All of his comforts went to decline
- Everything deteriorated in his life
- There is no room left for arrogance
- This is how we should come before Allah
- Are you the people who tell people to do good
- Yet you do not do it yourself
- You forget about yourself
- Surround yourself with good friends that will keep you in check
- You are the ones who read the book and know it
- Why don’t you think and reflect
- Why don’t you understand
- How come your knowledge does not lead to understanding
- Your intellect should tie up your emotions
- So you can think clearly
- You must have restraint over your emotions
- You could have a lack of understanding or emotional bias
- And seek help through patience and prayer
- Emotional bias can be cured through patience and salah
- It is difficult except for those who have khushu
- Getting help from salah is very difficult
- The prayer that helps to better one’s life are those who have khushu
- A fear which overwhelms you and you are in awe
- Your muscles become numb
- Who are convinced that they will be meeting Allah
- And that they will return back to Him
- Every salah is a meeting with Allah
- The one who has khushu knows that they will meet Allah
- Salah is a practice drill for judgment day
- Something you are so convinced of and you don’t need to think twice about it
- They will return to Allah voluntarily and by their own chose
- Because they are already doing it in the duniya
- They are constant in their salah
