A Concise Summary Juz 1 Part 2 Hizb 3

وَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ ۖ فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَشْرَبَهُمْ ۖ كُلُو وَاشْرَبُوا مِنْ رِزْقِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

• And recall when we said to Musa strike your staff the rock
• Then 12 springs burst out from it
• Allah did not make Musa the subject
• Because it was a miracle from Allah
• It was 12 springs so each person would know and have its drinking place
• Eat and drink from the provisions of Allah
• And do not be stupid causing corruption on the earth
• Do not be corrupt causing corruption in the society

وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَىٰ لَنْ نَصْبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٍ وَاحِدٍ فَادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّائِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا ۖ قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِالَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ ۚ اهْبِطُوا مِصْرًا فَإِنَّ لَكُمْ مَا سَأَلْتُمْ ۗ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ وَالْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَاءُوا بِغَضَبٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ النَّبِيِّينَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوْا وَكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ

• Then after some time they said O Musa we cannot be patience with just one kind of food
• They asked Musa to make dua for them
• Because they know they did not do anything for Allah
• We must have a direct relationship with Allah
• They made a list of green herbs cucumbers garlic lentils and onions
• They learned the names of these from back in Egypt
• It was like saying they missed the food from prison and slavery
• So now they say the dumbest thing
• Musa says are you seeking to replace something that is inferior
• With something that is better
• When they ate that food in Egypt there babies were killed every other year
• Pharoah really did a number on them
• They became loyal to Pharoah and missing Egypt
• Musa says go down into Egypt I mean countryside
• This is the sarcasm of Musa
• Musa is saying to them you are asking for Egypt all over again
• You will get what you asked for sure
• Then they were slapped with humiliation
• They were stuck and unable to get out
• They received rage from Allah
• The same 3 things they got from Egypt only much worse
• Because this time they received the wrath of Allah instead of Pharoah
• The ramifications for their stupidity got tougher
• Allah says that is because they continually disbelieved in the message
• They engaged in the killing of Prophets without having any right to do so
• All of that was because they disobeyed the Messenger
• They crossed all kinds of lines
