40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi

1. It is narrated by Amir ul Mumineen Abu Hafs Umar bin Khattab may Allah be pleased with him who said, I heard the Messenger of Allah may peace be upon him say, Certainly all actions are judged by their intentions and each man will have what he intended.  Thus he who intends to migrate to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger, but if he intends to migrate for a worldly thing that he might gain, or a women he wants to marry than his migration is what he intended. Narrated in Bukhari and Muslim

It is narrated by Umar bin Khattab may Allah be pleased with him who said while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him there came a man dressed in extremely white clothes and very black hair and no one knew him until he sat next to the Prophet peace be upon him with his knees touching his knees and he placed his hands on his thighs and said Muhammad inform me about Islam then the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said Islam is that you testify there is no one worthy of worship except Allah and that you testify that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah and that you offer salah and give zakah and fast during Ramadan and make a pilgrimage to Makkah if you are able to he said you are correct and we were shocked that he asked the question and answered it to then he said inform me about iman he said Iman is that you believe in Allah, His Angels, His books, His Messengers, and the last day, and that you believe in destiny the good and the bad he said you are correct he said inform me about Ihsan he said Ihsan is that you worship Allah as though you can see him and even though you do not see Him He sees you he said you are correct he said inform me when the hour will happen he said the one being questioned knows no better than the one who asked the question he said then inform me of its signs he said when the slave girl will give birth to her master and when the Bedouin Arabs who dislike clothing and herding sheep will compete in building tall buildings I was quiet for few days after the incident then the Prophet peace be upon him told me Umar do you know who the questioner was few days ago I replied Allah and his messenger know better he said he was Jibril who came to teach you your religion.
